The ingredients behind the balms, now available on their own.
I have spent thirty years scouring the globe sourcing ingredients. Along the way I build relationships with the indigenous communities who grow and harvest them, and I pay a fair price at origin, because that is the only thing that keeps an ingredient, and the people who tend it, still there in ten years.
Those same ingredients carry a value beyond my own formulations. They are organic wild harvest food ingredients: rare, exotic, traceable, and almost impossible to buy honestly at this quality. So I have opened the sourcing up.
Vanilla is the best example. I source it direct from origin in the remote islands of Vanuatu, where smallholder families hand pollinate every flower inside its single fertile day. Nine months on the vine, three months in the cure.
Every ingredient arrives with a plant health certificate and proof of origin, and every sale funds the indigenous projects at that origin. After every harvest we replant five times more than we took.
If you cook or distil for a living, tell me what you are trying to make and I will tell you what I can get, where it grows, and who harvests it. rebecca@rebeccaday360.com
