If you have a good basic fitness level and a desire for adventure with purpose, this could be your perfect trip. Indeed, these expeditions will take you out of your comfort zone.

Details of the Expedition

  • Location: Abuna Yemata Guh, situated in the Tigray region in Ethiopia.
  • Sponsorship required: £8000.00 plus flights.
  • Length: 15 days.
  • Dates: Nov 2026.
  • Suitable for: Individuals, couples, small groups (total expedition size 10 to 12 people).
  • Fitness level: Healthy and able to trek for a few hours a day, plus able to climb. Guides will train you before the climb, and you will have a rope harness on. We have a team medic who looks after expedition members and also Indigenous people on the project.
